| Happy New Year to all! 2012 is already looking like fun year for me starting with a 'Tirtha' Concert tour with Vijay Iyer and Nitin Mitta from Jan 26 to Feb 5 in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Norway, Sweden and Denmark and then I will be at Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music for the Spring semester from Feb 6 with some world class faculty joining me from USA, Colombia, Switzerland, Greece, France, Israel and India. In the next couple of months, I will also be scoring the music for a documentary film titled 'Chess Masters' which is about blind chess players directed by British Sports film maker Ian McDonald and a Tamil feature film titled 'Jannal' directed by Anand Annamalai and produced by Sathyajyothi Films. In the middle of all this, I also hear word that 'Vazhakku Enn 18/9' the Tamil film directed by Balaji Sakthivel for which I scored the music, is slated for a Feb 2012 release. It all sounds exciting and I look forward to making some nice music!

'How can you play Carnatic music
on a guitar'? is a question that was on everyone's
mind when Prasanna daringly took to one of the world's
most ancient musical forms on one of the world's most
modern instruments - the electric guitar! 20 years
on, the question is still asked by everyone but now
in disbelief at how Prasanna brings out the subtlest
of microtones on a standard electric guitar and goes
even further by extending his signature style to Jazz,
Blues, Rock, Classical music and everything that he
feeds in as a contemporary musician of today.
